Jarrad has already been recognized as one of the State’s best automotive apprentices when named the Motor Vehicle Industry’s Apprentice of the Year. Jarrad has also worked in pit lane with the Redbull Racing Team. He has quickly become a key member of the team at Roly’s Automotive Service.
2015 Trainee of the Year - Winner
Stacey Geyer
Riverland Veterinary Clinic
Stacey has been much more than a trainee at the Berri Veterinary Clinic. Stacey provides services that goes well beyond that of nursing, acting as a triage, customer service and equipment maintenance manager. Her ability to think on her feet during emergencies and help keep a busy veterinary practice running smoothly is a credit.

Caitlyn has become one of the Riverland tourism’s exceptional ambassadors. As well as helping co-ordinate bookings at the Berri Caravan Park, she also promotes the region to all visitors by using her extensive knowledge of the Riverland and it’s facilities.

Jordan has become a trusted team member of JP Carpentry’s team in Renmark. His ability to pick up new skills quickly and work unsupervised has been of great benefit to his employer. He brings a mature, reliable attitude to the job site and ensures that a high standard of work is the prime focus at all times.

Nathan has pursued a career as an electrician after excelling in a number of other fields during his brief working life. Nathan has enjoyed getting involved in the Riverland community and the wide variety of work available to him as a country-based electrician with Laser Electrical.

Ben has been able to turn his hand to most things during his apprenticeship at Woolston Engineering. He is a perfectionist in his trade and has an eye for detail in all aspects of his work. His employer has been impressed with his willingness to learn and his rapport with customers makes him a valuable team member.

Sophie has combined her flair and creativity with a magnetic personality to build her own clientele. Her range of skills and desire for self improvement have made her another wonderful example of the training environment Jarahs Hair provides.

Maria is studying Cert III Commercial Cookery while completing her year 12 at Glossop High School. She is enthusiastic and keen to learn everything there is to know about baking, she combines this with a strong work ethic and clear vocational goals.

Tahlia is studying Cert III Hairdressing while completing year 11 at Glossop High School. She has a passion for hairdressing and takes every opportunity open to her to learn and explore new skills and styles outside the salon.

Bethany has been studying the Diploma of Early Childhood Education and Care while competing her SACE at Waikerie High School. Bethany has passion for child care that extends beyond her studies, and has demonstrated that she is a valuable employee with a clear vision for her future.

Christian has completed Cert III in Agriculture while studying year 12 at Loxton High School. Christian showed great commitment and an advanced knowledge of the agriculture industry, including the ability to link his research with theory and good practical skills.

Ellie is studying Cert III Early Childhood Education and Care while completing year 10 at Lameroo Regional Community School. Ellie is energetic and manages to juggle work, study and sport with career goals including a plan to volunteer to work with children in a developing country.
2015 Vocational Educational Student of the Year - Winner
Matt Turnbull
Renmark High
The judging panel was particularly impressed with Matt’s wisdom, approach, attitude, achievement and maturity well beyond his years. To have achieved three certificate 3 while completing school and having part time employment and sporting commitments is an outstanding achievement. The panel was overwhelmed by his passion for the conservation of the environment, his engagement in with the attributes of the Riverland and perception of the issues confronting economic sustainability in the Riverland.
2015 Vocational Educational Student of the Year - Runner Up

The judging panel were impressed with the learning pathway that Isabelle has constructed for herself. She is to be commended for the way she has selected school subjects and her VET studies that support her compassion for others. The panel were particularly impressed with the blend of youth work, education and mission work aspiration she has planned for her future.
